Description

The HB-02 is the latest flagship cockpit from CRW, engineered to deliver an optimal balance of stiffness, ergonomics, speed, and minimal weight. Featuring a redesigned, flattened aero profile, and updated clamping system and a new carbon layup it’s designed to squeeze every ounce of performance out of your front end.

Crafted from a premium, one-piece carbon structure, the HB-02 maximizes power transfer while maintaining a sleek, fully integrated aesthetic. Tipping the scales at a mere 280g (37×100mm), it stands as an impressively lightweight choice for a fully integrated aero bar. The HB-02 is a definitive upgrade for riders demanding an uncompromising mix of comfort, efficiency, and race-day performance.

KEY FEATURES

One-piece carbon construction

The HB-02 uses a one-piece moulded carbon structure, helping improve overall stiffness while reducing unnecessary material and weight. This creates a clean, strong and seamlessly integrated cockpit.

Aero-optimised profile

The bar uses a wide, flattened aero top section and an aero-tapered stem shape to help reduce frontal area and smooth airflow across the cockpit. The result is a handlebar that’s fast, clean and supports a more efficient race position.

Hidden bolt clamping system

The rear-bolt stem design hides the fixing bolts inside the structure, creating a smoother external surface and a cleaner overall look. It also helps the cockpit visually integrate more naturally with modern aero frames.

Hidden cable routing

The HB-02 is designed around a fully integrated front end, with hidden routing to keep the cockpit clean and reduce cable exposure. This makes it a strong option for modern internal-routing road frames.

Compact ergonomic drops

CRW has redesigned the geometry and curvature of the drops to make them easier to use in real riding conditions. The 115mm drop and 70mm reach keep the position compact and controlled, while the refined curvature offers a more natural hand position.

11° flared drops

The drops use an 11° flare, giving more wrist and forearm clearance when sprinting or riding in the drops. This helps improve control during high-power efforts while keeping the hood position narrow for aero efficiency.

10mm raised lever position

The shifter mounting area uses a subtle 10mm raised design, helping you hold the hoods more naturally for longer periods. This creates a more comfortable and stable cruising position while still keeping the cockpit low, narrow and aggressive.

Integrated carbon computer mount

The included carbon computer mount weighs just 14g including bolts and is moulded as part of the overall cockpit design language. It keeps the computer neatly positioned in front of the stem without disrupting the clean look of the bar.

While unknown in the west, Craft Racing Works (CRW) have been quietly building wheelsets for other companies since 2015. They launched their own brand in 2018 and in 2020 started designing their own hubs. They’re a small team who pay attention to the details. They put an emphasis on the performance of the wheelset as a whole as opposed to individual components. They often experiment with new technologies such as Berd spokes and aren't afraid to try new things. As a new brand with a limited number of wheels out on in the wild, it's hard to give them a rating for durability or longevity. As always, early adopters take the risk of being a guinea pig, but the advantage is that you get a great performing wheelset at a great price before the brand raises prices due to the overheads of being a larger brand. There is a manufacturer's warranty with the wheels, so that does provide some peace of mind.
