With over a decade of working as a tier-1 supplier in the tech industry, Mentech put their knowledge, resources and expertise towards developing a race bike.
Details, Details, Details...
"It's all in the details." is a phrase that's commonly heard. and it seems like words that the Mentech designers live by. The Chermin R doesn't have any single headline stat that jumps out at you, but it's the combination of the countless details that add up to a road bike that is race-oriented but easy to live with.
For many brands their first bike is conservative: Cost-cutting decisions have to be made in the hope that the first bike sells enough units to allow the second bike to be the one the designers actually wanted to make. Not with Mentech. Mentech are a listed company with over 4,000 employees and (according to their latest financial reports) an R&D budget in the tens of millions of US dollars.
What does that add up to? One very impressive bike.
All-Rounder with Aero Properties
The Chermin-R is a GC rider's dream. Lightweight and stiff, but aero enough to save energy for when it counts. For us mere mortals, in-frame storage means you can ditch the saddle bag and keep your spares in the frame and out of the wind.
Relatively short 406mm chainstays (408 on the largest sizes) keep the handling snappy and the bike feeling responsive. Different fork lengths throughout the range means every size bike rides the same and reduces toe overlap in the smallest sizes.
A reversable 7mm offset seatpost allows a wide range of positions, but if that's not enough a 15mm (also reversable) version is available.
