Description
VFV Deep-V Seatpost
Designed for the off-road, better for the Flat Road racing
The Deep-V seatpost is specifically designed for off-road riding, including cross-country mountain biking, gravel, and all-road riding. However, due to its featherweight and superb versatility, many have chosen to equip their road bikes with our Deep-V seatposts to increase compliance and comfort.

Just as the industry believes that it is almost impossible to push the structural design and engineering of twin-bolt style seatposts further, we explored new possibilities on the construction of our Deep-V seatposts. By utilizing the carbon fiber layup on the connection parts with the saddle, the two pieces of equal-thickness leafs act as both locking mechanism and shock-absorbing system. The result is a seatpost with not only the compliance and functionalities of heavier, more complex-structured posts, but also the simplicity and reliability of standard twin-bolt posts, with an incredible weight of 135 grams for the 27.2mm x 400mm option.
We have undertaken Finite Element Analysis to calculate the optimum wall-thickness in the shock-absorption area of the Deep-V seatpost. This ensures a much better capability to absorb shocks with high frequency and low amplitude, when compared with round seatposts that are also constructed using carbon fibre. The simulation results we obtain match the extensive real world testing that we have done, both on-road and off-road. The Deep-V seatpost is incredibly flexible to damp the harsh riding conditions, as it eliminates essentially all small vibrations, and significantly reduce the impact on your body from bigger hits.

I purchased this as replacement for Canyon Endurance split seatpost and have been using for a few months.
Was a direct replacement, tourqued up to recommendation and it has not budged a mm since. Did not use any carbon paste or anything.
Looks amazing on bike and comfortable too. Can feel it absorb some bumps and vibrations like the seat post it was replacement for.
Confirmed working for carbon rail seatpost too, overall no regrets!

I like it so far, but more importantly, my back is liking it. I haven’t had a chance to throw it over really rough stuff yet, but it’s been great on the compacted gravel / single-track trails I’ve done so far (as well as terrible British roads). It doesn’t seem to obviously flex like an Ergon but it’s definitely more compliant than a rigid seatpost. FWIW I’m considerably heavier than Joe 🙂 Also if you’re running di2 this makes life easy compared to an Ergon / VCLS type seatpost. I like the saddle clamp, easy to adjust and tweak and AFAICT it works with both round and oval seat rails. It was beautifully packaged and comes with carbon gripper paste and thread lock. Strong recommend from me.
