Joe Whittingham –
The Magene P715s are a great alternative to the Assiomas (I also own two sets of Assiomas, the first set died after 5yrs of very hard use.) The pedals come in Shimano and LOOK which is good choice for riders. In my testing they performed as advertised. Compared to the PES505, they were within 1-2% of each other. They connect fast, used the app to update firmware no problems, etc etc. One disadvantage is that these pedals cannot measure pedal center offset. Evidently for my riding style it is not an issue (because they’re reading the same as the spider power meter.) however riders who do not apply the power to the center of the pedal may have issues with over/under reading. How big of an issue is this? It’s hard to say as I can only speak to my sample size of one. The lack of cleats in the box is also a disappointment. However, if you’re on a tight budget, these are a viable alternative to the Assiomas.
