9Velo’s hubs (made by parent company H-Works) are well regarded and the mature design has a track record. Look at the center of lots of the super-iight Chinese wheels and you’ll see a H-Works hub staring back at you – although usually with no H-Works branding. 9Velo have finally paired their hubs with rims of a suitably impressive weight, resulting in this near-1000g wheelset for well under $2,000. Stiffness is a lot better than you’d think from such a light wheelset… maybe overly so for my weight (sub-60kg) but I still wouldn’t describe the ride as “harsh.” An easy recommendation for anyone looking for a wheelset in the $1,500-$2,000 dollar range.
