The CRW ULTIMO is CRW’s latest flagship carbon road wheelset, developed to deliver a refined balance of aerodynamic efficiency, stiffness, low weight and long-term durability.
Designed for modern performance road bikes and race-focused riders, the ULTIMO combines an advanced carbon construction with a contemporary aero profile, optimised around wider tyres and modern frame platforms.

Advanced Aero Rim Profile
The ULTIMO wheelset features an aerodynamic rim profile designed around modern wide road tyres and contemporary aero framesets.
Available with 50mm or 60mm front rims paired to a 60mm rear, the profile has been developed to balance aerodynamic efficiency with predictable handling and crosswind stability in real-world riding conditions.
An improved spoke design and a low spoke count further enhance the crosswind stability and reduce aerodynamic drag at higher speeds.
Lightweight and Stiff Carbon Rim Construction
Built using high-grade carbon fiber and a new optimized layup, the ULTIMO rim minimizes weight without sacrificing the stiffness and strength required for high-performance riding.
This refined construction delivers high lateral stiffness and efficient power transfer, allowing the wheelset to accelerate quickly, climb efficiently, and hold momentum at speed.
Additionally, the tuned layup preserves the smooth ride quality and long-term durability, resulting in a lightweight wheelset that remains solid and dependable under the hardest riding conditions.
High-Engagement Performance Hub
At the center of the ULTIMO is a high-performance hub system engineered for exceptional rigidity, smooth rolling, and long-term durability. By combining an oversized bearing structure with an increased driving flange diameter, the hub maximizes structural integrity and power transfer.
This design is paired with a 45-tooth integrated ratchet mechanism that delivers rapid engagement and superior transmission efficiency, ensuring an instantaneous, direct pedal response under intense acceleration and high-torque efforts.
Bespoke Carbon Spokes
The ULTIMO features an updated carbon fiber spoke designed to reduce rotational weight while improving responsiveness and ride feel.
Their narrow aerodynamic profile minimizes drag to enhance high-speed stability and airflow management, while the carbon construction maintains optimal wheel stiffness without creating an excessively harsh ride.
Furthermore, a precision preload system effectively offsets tolerances and compression from thru-axle clamping, eliminating axial pressure on bearings to significantly extend service life, all supported by reinforced titanium spoke interfaces for maximum strength and durability.
